Alex Rudinger of The Faceless Playing ‘Xenochrist’

If you haven’t heard yet, former The Haarp Machine drummer Alex Rudinger replaced Lyle Cooper as drummer for The Faceless.

Alex has quite a lot to live up to, because Lyle Cooper’s drum writing on all previous Faceless releases has been outstanding.

Luckily, Alex is a phenomenal drummer. He has his own YouTube channel where he uploads all sorts of drum covers inside the metal community.

Now, Sumerian Records has posted a drum cover of his on their YouTube channel of him playing the Faceless’ track ‘Xenochrist’ off of the 2008 release Planetary Duality.

So, how does it compare to Lyle? Well, let’s just say it does just fine. Let’s take a look:

Alex Rudinger is one of the tightest playing drummers I’ve ever seen. His playing is so controlled it almost looks robotic.

Also, he regularly reads sheet music while playing, meaning is one of the few popular musicians today that actually reads music instead of tablature.

We need more drummers like Alex Rudinger.
