Song of the Day – “Dare to Defy” by Circle of Contempt
After the release of 2009′s Artifacts in Motion, Circle of Contempt seemed to fall out of the metal scene for a few years.
But, after signing to Sumerian Records, Circle of Contempt release a new EP on December 11, 2012 entitled “Entwine the Threads.”
This EP was especially exciting for me due to the very many times that I listened to “Color Lines” off of Artifacts in Motion on repeat.
This track, “Dare to Defy” clearly displays the evolution of the band and where they are heading.
It incorporates all the same heaviness that fans saw with their first album but at the same time including elements like piano and synth to establish a more sturdy writing style.
Give the above track a listen and let’s hear what you have to say about Circle of Contempt.
